Fun at Ft. Knox

I know, I know, I've been back almost a week and no entry. Well, it's been a hectic week (which I will cover later). Suffice it to say that I was supposed to work 4 days this week. I've worked 2.

So anyway, Ft. Knox was fun. It was a completely different experience than Ft. Benning was 2 years ago. Granted it's all glorified babysitting, but at Ft. Knox the drill sergeants do all of the processing. It was babysitting with a purpose.

Now, I know that the Army is having a hard time finding quality troops, but I'd like to think that when I was a new recruit, I was a little smarter. It was like working in a quarry, every single soldier was a rock (approximate IQ). How many times do you have to tell someone that they will get a chance to use the phone later (granted "later" can mean in two days). Why do I have to remind them that they need to drink water (when it's been 90+ degrees every day this week with 80% humidity)? I hope that most of these either develop a brain somewhere in training or get out after three years.
